Little Paper Hearts

I love looking through Esty at the variety of smile-inducing pieces of creativity to hang on your wall. My latest finds are these beautiful and delicate heart collages. Sad thing is though that they're all sold out. Major bummer... but hopefully Sarah and Bendrix come back soon!

Sweet Simplicity

After seeing this crafty Christmas tree (perfect for a small apartment!) on you are my fave, I had to check out Sweet Paul, a blog with beautiful photographs, delicious recipes and creativity galore! I love the crisp whites, cool blues and touches of green he uses for the holidays. It's such a refleshing departure from the traditional red and green.

Reading Wall

Despite my crafty decorations (here and here) in my bedroom, I still think the walls are too blank. With the white walls, blonde wood furniture (not my choice), and my lovely white comforter, there is a lot of light in the room. After discovering these awesome shelves, I think I have found an answer. Considering they are from Europe and that I don't buy things I have the slightest inkling that I could make myself, I think this will be a Christmas break project. Plus, it will be the perfect time to scour some thrift shops for cheap books with fun covers to fill my shelves. (That makes it sound like I don't read, but I do, I just don't buy books. I grew up in a family that went - and still does go! - to the library every Saturday.)

{I love how these shelves look like they are built into the wall,
but they actually are cubes with a frame mounted on the wall!}

ps - I went to Target today and got really excited about Christmas. They have 40 glass ball ornaments for $15. I think I might be buying some silver and blue ones to hang with some silky ribbon. I can't wait :)

This is as Unorganized as I Get

Weekend Project: creating a wall collage.
After thinking, procrastinating, and thinking some more, I finally decided to hang my mirrors, pictures, and Quotable cards (I love these!) together in a semi-random manner. Taking note from this great tutorial on Design FormuLA, I created a photo wall collage.

{laid out on my bed - this took way to long because I kept over analyzing the arrangement}

{on the wall - lots of measuring (approx. 2 gaps around each) and leveling}

{yay for 3M strips! so easy for placement and removal}

Twinkle Lights

I don't remember where I found this lovely picture, but I found it in a file on my computer full of pictures and random bits of inspiration that I come across. I hope I rediscover the source because I am very excited about my DIY results.

{finished product - I can't wait to find a white comforter for my bed!}

Letter Key Hooks

Yay! I finally moved all my stuff into our new apartment and started to get organized. One hitch: my two roommates are not officially allowed to move in until Friday, so they can't get into their bedrooms. Ugg... We went shopping for decor (pictures to come!) and our first step in making the apartment our was hanging the letter key hooks I made. So easy - I just bought cheap wooden letters and hooks from Hobby Lobby and painted the letters with yellow and a border of white. I can't wait to finish the apartment!

Happy Friday!

Isn't this room gorgeous?

I'm obsessed with the combination of white, pale aquas and gold and after finding a large gold trimmed mirror at T.J.Maxx for only $15, this became the inspiration for my bedroom in our new apartment. I can't wait to get back to school and try to recreate this serene environment in my room tomorrow!
Have a fabulous weekend!
