This is as Unorganized as I Get

Weekend Project: creating a wall collage.
After thinking, procrastinating, and thinking some more, I finally decided to hang my mirrors, pictures, and Quotable cards (I love these!) together in a semi-random manner. Taking note from this great tutorial on Design FormuLA, I created a photo wall collage.

{laid out on my bed - this took way to long because I kept over analyzing the arrangement}

{on the wall - lots of measuring (approx. 2 gaps around each) and leveling}

{yay for 3M strips! so easy for placement and removal}

Happy Friday!

Any fun weekend plans? My weekend hopefully will include finding a black dress for my sorority's Presents, catching up on reading for class, and loving life with friends.
Have a great weekend!

"I would color all day everyday if I could..."

How awesome is this coloring book? I loved coloring books, like My Little Pony, when I was little and this would be a fabulous and more "mature" way to de-stress and work the artistic portion of my brain. With each page designed as a tribute to a different Indie musician/band and profits go toward various charities, who can resist?

Etsy Love

Is it just me, or is the selection of cards that can be found at chain stores becoming more boring lately? I recently needed to find a sympathy card and thank you notes and I was highly disappointed by the choices. This has given me another reason to love Etsy even more.

Twinkle Lights

I don't remember where I found this lovely picture, but I found it in a file on my computer full of pictures and random bits of inspiration that I come across. I hope I rediscover the source because I am very excited about my DIY results.

{finished product - I can't wait to find a white comforter for my bed!}

Carpe Diem

I cannot believe that I officially started my senior year today. I am really this old? I don't feel like I am ready to be an adult (even though I technically already am). But, at the same time, I am ready to make this year be one of the best and to live life to the fullest, seizing every opportunity and making the most out of my relationships. With these goals in mind, here are a few thoughts I am hoping to live by:

"There are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you're proud of." -B. Button

"You can have the life you want." -Stephanie Congdon Barnes.

"Well behaved women rarely make history." -Laurel Thatcher Ulrich

"I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles." -Audrey Hepburn

"Live with intention. Walk to the edge. Listen hard. Practice wellness. Play with abandon. Laugh. Choose with no regret. Continue to learn. Appreciate your friends. Do what you love. Live as if this is all there is." -Mary Anne Radmacher

Happy Friday!

Ever feel like this? I am hopeful, but a little overwhelmed and lost. Classes, relationships, and figuring out the future keep becoming more real and more eminent, leaving me to wonder about what is coming and how I am supposed to respond. I just need to remember that while a definite life path sounds great, part of what makes the journey memorable is how we embrace the obstacles that are thrown at us.

I hope you have a productive, stress-free, and enjoyable weekend!

Thought of the Day: "W hen I was 5 years old, my mom always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down "happy." They told me I didn't understand the assignment and I told them they didn't understand life." -anon.

Would You Like Some Muffin with those Blueberries?

So I got a little carried away... but what was I supposed to do when my dad found the blueberry sale again?

Recipe adapted from Bon Appetit
Makes 30 mini muffins

{Mash 1 banana in a bowl.}

{Add 1/2 egg, 1/4 cup soymilk, 1 Tbs. vegetable oil, 1 tsp. lemon juice, and 1/2 tsp. vanilla. Mix well. Add 3/4 cup flour, 1/4 cup sugar, 1/8 cup oat bran, 1 tsp. baking powder, 1/4 tsp. salt, and 1/4 tsp. cinnamon. Mix well.}

{Add blueberries (it called for 3/4 cup, but I added more like 1 1/2 cups) and combine. Divide among muffin tins and bake at 375 for 10 minutes.}

{Yum.}
